The presidency has described members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as terrorists. The presidency in a statement on Sunday signed by the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu said the group and its members are responsible for acts of terrorism in the southeast region of the country. It blamed them for the attacks on police stations and other residents in the region, adding that the group is only hiding under the umbrella of struggling for freedom to perpetrate its acts of terrorism.

Bikini-clad teens everywhere owe a lot to Annette Funicello. The actress, along with actor Frankie Avalon, starred in a series of Beach Party movies in the 1960s that depicted teens frolicking in the sand and living it up. Up until she starred in the films, Funicello, a former Disney star, had been told to dress modestly and, most importantly, to keep her navel covered. Dan Nigro has started working on pop singer Chappell Roan‘s upcoming album, the follow-up to her 2023 debut record, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.” Both Nigro and Roan teased the project on the carpet for the ASCAP Pop Awards on Wednesday night saying their collaboration on the album was in its early stages.
